Protect Confidential Information Act
The Protect Confidential Information Act aims to safeguard the confidentiality and privacy of sensitive information shared during Business Professionals of America (BPA) meetings at Kirtland Central High School. It defines “Confidential Information” as any information marked as confidential, sensitive, or proprietary, and “Meeting Area” as any physical or virtual space where chapter activities occur. The act mandates that Chapter Officers, including the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer, must maintain the confidentiality of such information, refrain from disclosing it without explicit permission, and take reasonable precautions to prevent unauthorized access. Violations of these requirements can result in consequences ranging from verbal warnings and written reprimands to suspension or removal from office, as well as other disciplinary actions deemed appropriate by the Chapter President or Executive Committee. This act ensures that sensitive information is protected, thereby maintaining the integrity and trust within the organization.
