KCHS BPA Secretary Rodzaiah Curtis Introduces BILL NO. 001

Kirtland Central High School's Business Professionals of America (BPA) chapter is set to implement new standards for member participation and event eligibility with the introduction of BILL NO. 001, also known as the Criteria Trips Act. The bill was introduced by Secretary Rodzaiah Curtis on January 30, 2024, and aims to establish strict criteria for members and elected officers to attend future event trips organized by the KCHS BPA.

Overview of the Criteria Trips Act:

SECTION 1: The purpose of this resolution is to establish strict standards and qualifications for members and elected officers to attend future trips of the organization.

SECTION 2: Members must:
- Attend at least 90% of chapter meetings and all service projects and concession stands.
- Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA with no F's.
- Hold a leadership position or participate in at least one committee.
- Complete at least 20 hours of community service per semester.

SECTION 3: Additional Requirements:
- Members must attend all chapter meetings, service projects, and concession stands. Three unexcused absences will result in ineligibility for trips.
- Members must submit a grade check sheet every quarter. Any F's will result in ineligibility for trips.
- Members must help set up and clean up at all chapter meetings. Failure to do so will result in ineligibility for trips.

SECTION 4: This resolution will take effect on January 30, 2024, and will be signed into law by the Chapter President and Chapter Advisor of the organization.

Secretary Curtis emphasized the importance of these new criteria in ensuring active participation and maintaining high standards within the chapter. "This bill is designed to promote accountability and dedication among our members. We want to ensure that those who represent our chapter at events are fully committed and meet the necessary qualifications," stated Curtis.
