Early Career

Prior to his role as Secretary, Curtis demonstrated a natural ability for leadership. He served as Junior Class President in 2022.

Secretary of KCHS BPA (Dec 2023 - May 2024)

As Secretary, Curtis implemented numerous initiatives to strengthen the KCHS BPA chapter:
- Successfully passed three major chapter bills: the Travel Criteria Act, the BPA Membership Safety Act, and the Protect Confidential Information Act.
- Established the BPA Headquarters on campus for official meetings and events. (The Headquarters will be dismantled at the end of the year.)
- Launched the official KCHS BPA website and oversaw the completion of the 2023–2024 bylaws.
- Designed the KCHS BPA flag and developed operational tools like timesheets and meeting agendas.
- Formed and led seven committees, ranging from Food and Beverages to Halloween Candy Grams.

Curtis demonstrated exceptional organizational skills, creating monthly calendars, officer name tags, permission slips, and grade checks. He also managed inventory, membership cards, and absent request forms, showcasing a meticulous approach to administration.

Acting President

Curtis assumed the role of Acting President multiple times during his tenure. On September 7, 2023, Curtis had just been appointed as Representative the day prior. He was designated as Acting President by the advisor, Foster, when President Harrison was unable to fulfill his duties, and Vice President Roanhorse declined the position of Acting President. At the time, the official bylaws for the chapter were not yet formalized. The bylaws were officially completed when Curtis took office as Secretary.

Throughout his time in BPA, Curtis frequently stepped into leadership roles, serving as Acting President and Acting Vice President on several occasions. He holds the distinction of being the only BPA member to serve as Acting President more than twice, showcasing his exceptional leadership and adaptability.

Community Engagement and Legacy

During his term, Curtis actively represented KCHS BPA at state and national conferences, fostering collaboration and professional growth among members. His commitment to community service and fundraising helped enhance the chapter's visibility and impact.

Rodzaiah Curtis's leadership left a lasting imprint on the KCHS BPA chapter, setting a precedent for future officers. His ability to balance creativity, teamwork, and dedication ensured the organization's success during his tenure.
